Adventurous
voyagers
The kindergarten program takes in
children at around four years of age
when they are full of imagination
and daring and takes them on a voyage
of discovery and learning. The four
year olds are highly energetic and
love to try new adventures. They are
also developing their sense of humor
and love using silly words. We channel
their innate exuberance into a love
for a diverse set of learning and
creative activities, while having
fun along the way. Our teachers help
children become confident, articulate
and responsible, so that they can
handle life in big schools and large
classrooms while maintaining their
self-confidence and positive attitude.
All-round
Development
Through
the program, our teachers facilitate
holistic age appropriate development
of children:
• Physical Development
• Science and Computers
• Language and Math
• Dramatic Play, Music and Art
• Emotional and Social Development
Physical
Development
Children
are provided balanced and healthy
breakfast, lunch and evening snack;
and a post-lunch nap, to ensure they
get the right nutrition and rest through
the day. The center also provides
ample opportunities for physical play
and exploration including running,
jumping, climbing, sliding, cycling,
playing ball etc. Self-feeding skills
are significantly enhanced and dexterity
in stacking, clay modeling, drawing,
pouring and threading beads etc is
greatly increased. We also start them
on writing at this stage though their
writing skills are not perfected.
Science
and Computers
We introduce
new activities that help enhance their
understanding of space, size, weight,
time, distance, position, cause and
effect etc. We also introduce concepts
about the solar system, human body,
animals and plants. The usage of computers
is encouraged especially for interactive
learning activities.
Language
and Math
Kindergarten children are ready for
the sophisticated use of spoken language
including the usage of tense, situation
adaptation and complex sentence formation.
We tailor our interaction with the
children to help them become confident
and articulate. Written language for
English alphabets is introduced. Children
are also familiarized with key information
about themselves and the center. Math
skills also evolve including the ability
to count objects, memorize and write
numbers, understand ordinal distributions
etc and children are helped to learn
these. Problem solving, puzzle and
complex game playing are also leveraged
to further enhance their analytical
abilities.
Dramatic
Play, Music and Art
We expand
the role of dramatic play in teaching
by introducing a variety of themes
including shopping, restaurant, medical
clinics, police stations, homes, offices
etc The usage of different media and
mixing of colors of mediums is encouraged
to help enhance their creativity.
Music, puppetry, singing and rhythmic
movement continue to be a key part
of the overall developmental experience.
Emotional
and Social Development
Four year
olds experience and manifest a wide
range of emotions from jealousy and
anger to affection and pride. We nurture
their emotional development and help
them find appropriate ways to express
themselves. Socially they become capable
of developing independent friendships,
carrying on complex conversations
and attempting to manipulate situations.
Without really understanding the concept
of lying and forbidden words, they
might sometimes indulge in both. Our
teachers gently guide these lively
voyagers on the right path while encouraging
their abundant positive energy to
prepare them for a lifetime of happiness
and success.
